Case study · Ola Mate

The welcome flow that does the SELLING.

Ola Mate makes yerba mate energy drinks. Their email list is small, so every send has to earn its keep. Here's how a full automation stack, led by a standout welcome flow, became the engine.

The setup

Small list. Big job.

The brand

Ola Mate: clean-energy yerba mate, sold direct at olamate.com. A young brand with a few hundred engaged subscribers, running on Klaviyo.

The work

The full program: a rebuilt multi-email welcome flow, post-purchase and browse-abandonment automations, engaged-only segmentation, and a weekly campaign calendar.

The numbers · Oct–Dec 2025

Every flow pulls. One leads.

Leading flow
61%
of automated-email revenue. The leader of the stack, not the whole story
Hero email
5.7%
of recipients placed an order from the flow's best email
Unsubscribes
<0.4%
per welcome send. Selling hard without burning the list

All numbers tracked in Klaviyo, October 1 – December 31, 2025.

How

What actually moved it.

A welcome flow that sells

Not one generic hello, but a sequence that introduces the brand, answers the "what even is yerba mate?" question, and makes the first order easy. In the holiday quarter, the hero email alone converted 5.7% of the people who got it.

Engaged-only sending

Campaigns stopped going to everyone and started going to people who actually read them. Deliverability protected, unsubscribes low, and the list gets a sunset flow instead of dead weight.

Repeat purchases, automated

A post-purchase flow built from scratch became the account's second-biggest automation, turning first orders into repeat orders without a single manual send.
